The Tire Pressure LED is a small, no-maintenance, economic, self-calibrating, light device which flashes when your tire is under-inflated.
Tire Pressure LED monitors your tire pressure to maintain optimum performance, enhance safe driving, and maximize your tire life and fuel efficiency.
Wow, What is that?
- It's a simple device that starts flashing if the tire pressure falls below the correct pressure. Additionally, it is so small (approximately 24mm x 13.5mm) and light (approx. 11g) that it will have virtually no impact on the balance of the wheel or the appearance of the vehicle. It is 100% self-contained with batteries on-board. These batteries are good for 3-4 years of standby time or over 3 weeks of continuous flashing.
- TIt is totally sealed and, therefore, the batteries cannot be replaced.
- It is designed for endurance and can withstand the toughest of conditions. The body is made of stainless steel and the lens is made of polycarbonate.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Independent testing has shown huge savings from this very small investment.
-
It's self-calibrating. When the cap is first mounted on the valve stem, it will “memorize” your tire pressure. The cap will then be calibrated for life and will not require resetting. - The car version will fit any car, light truck, or SUV on the market (pressure range 10-70 psi, or 0.7-5.0bar) and the truck version will fit any truck, RV, camper or other heavy vehicle (pressure range 60-170psi or 4.0-11.0bar).
- Since two versions cover any tire pressure between 10-170psi (0.7-11.0bar), there is no need for dealers to carry large stocks of different caps.
- The valve cap can be calibrated to any tyre pressure between 10 & 150psi. No need to carry large stocks of different caps.
Is it easy to install?
The cap is simple to use, requiring no technical knowledge for use or installation.
Since the Tire Pressure LED is a self-calibrating device, no further calibration or maintenance is required after installation.
A set of four Tire Pressure LEDs can be installed in just a few seconds and will not require a trained technician.
The device requires no drilling or other modifications to your car that could potentially void your warranty.
Ensure that your tire is at the correct pressure before installation and calibration take place.
Is it easy to use?
Tire Pressure LED is specifically designed to be simple for the user and does not require any tools or technical skills for installation.
The only requirement is that your tire pressure be set to the correct pressure immediately before installation, as you screw on the Tire Pressure LED. The Tire Pressure LED will then self-calibrate to the set tire pressure.
IIf the tire pressure drops 4 psi or more, the red LED on top of the device will begin to flash, indicating the drop in tire pressure below the calibrated setting and that the tire will need attending to.
IS IT SAFE?
The Tire Pressure LED is totally safe to use. It has been in production since 2004 and we have updated and improved the Tire Pressure LED on a continuous basis. Here is some practical advice to some of the safety related questions we have been asked over the years.
Wheel balance: We have not experienced any issue with the wheel getting out of balance after the installation of the Tire Pressure LED. However, we do recommend you have them on when getting your wheels balanced.
Valve stems: You need to make sure that the valve stem is not so long that the Tire Pressure LED sticks further out than the edge of the rim of the tire. This is to prevent damage while parking close to a curb or in some type of car-wash machines. When getting new tires and valve stems we always recommend you choose short valve stems. If you are planning on driving speeds exceeding 150 km/h (93 mph) for extended periods of time, we highly recommend the use of metal stems. During internal testing in the lab, we were able to detect valve stem fatigue after 30 minutes of 300 km/h using an excessively long rubber valve stem (cap sticking out beyond the tire). With short proper rubber stems, however, we did not see any fatigue, but we still would recommend metal stems if driving above 150 km/h (93 mph).
Leak proof: The units are totally sealed and will not leak. Even if you would damage the lens, the unit is still airtight.
Impact on vehicle electronics: The Tire Pressure LED has its own circuitry totally enclosed and is battery powered. Therefore, there are no radiations, radio signals, or electrical fields which could interfere with ABS, engine mapping, or other electronic components in your vehicle.
How durable is this valve cap?
Tire Pressure LED is designed to withstand even the toughest situations and has been tested in all weather and driving conditions, including salted roads. The body of the Tire Pressure LED is made of stainless steel and the clear cap is made of clear polycarbonate.
It can withstand all traditional cleaning solvents for washing vehicles. However, some strong chemicals can affect the clearness of the polycarbonate lens.
Tire Pressure LED is entirely sealed and, therefore, no moisture, dust, or dirt can enter into it.
How long this will last?
Tire Pressure LED does not require any maintenance.
The battery life is approximately 3-4 years in stand-by mode (with correct tire pressure) or over 3 weeks of flashing (with incorrect tire pressure).
We suggest that, from time to time, you verify the functionality and condition of the batteries by simply unscrewing the cap.
When unscrewed, the cap will flash, indicating that everything is in good working order. If the flashing is dim or if it does not flash, the batteries have been worn out. If you do see the bright flash, re-attach after the check.
